Skin Peels

A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical to exfoliate your skin. This procedure will help improve the softness and brightness of your skin. Additionally, peels will help diminish large pores, wrinkles and discoloration of the skin. Additional treatments along with a comprehensive skin care program are recommended to experience the best results. If you are prone to cold sores, we require a prescription for an antiviral to be taken 2 days prior to treatment (such as Acyclovir or Valtrex).

A TCA (Trichloro Acetic Acid) peel is an aggressive chemical peel technique used to improve the overall texture and tone of your skin. Peels help diminish large pores and discoloration of the skin. Additional treatments along with a comprehensive skin care program are recommended to experience the best results. This peel is recommended for aging or sun-damaged skin.

A popular technique to remove skin cells is using naturally occurring fruit acids. The AHA peel works to remove the top layer of the skin by exfoliation to reveal a smoother, healthier layer of skin. When treated regularly with Alpha Hydroxy Acid peels, your skin can benefit from minimized fined lines, brown marks and dry spots. They can also help to minimize acne.

The Salicylic Acid/Beta Peel is the best choice for acne-prone skin and provides excellent results. This peel helps to rid dirt, oil, and debris in your pores and can help minimize oil production. If you have an Aspirin allergy, this peel is not recommended.

Once you’ve had your skin peel (typical time is 30 minutes) your skin will be clean and appear slightly red. Some skin flaking may occur and you may feel effects similar to a sunburn, but you can resume most normal or daily activities within 48 hours of the peel. Be sure to use sun protection daily, as your skin will be more sensitive.

When treated with any skin peel, it is important to remember that you should receive care from professionally trained staff who are under the supervision of a physician.
