He is past Chief of Staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center (2011-2012), and Board Member and past Chairman of the Grand Valley Surgery Center (2000-2016), and past Member of the Board of Directors of St. Mary’s Medical Center (2011-2019).

Having grown up and then returned to raise a family in the Grand Valley, Dr. Hartshorn firmly believes in giving back to the community. He is recognized for providing pro bono and reduced fee care for victims of domestic violence and
those with congenital deformities. He actively engages with local non-profits and children’s programs on the Western Slope and, alongside his family, established a scholarship for students pursuing careers in health care at Colorado State
University. Outside of his practice, Dr. Hartshorn is a proud father of four who enjoys skiing, mountaineering, traveling, and ranching.
