Photofacial

Our Photofacial involves a non-ablative (not peeling or not removing top layers of the skin), light-based treatment that applies carefully calibrated light to the skin. During this process, the light seeks out specific targets on the skin surface including pigmented spots and superficial blood vessels/broken capillaries/Rosacea. The Photofacial stimulates the skin to build new collagen production and corrects the skin from the inside out with no downtime! And you’ve wondered how to get younger looking skin? This is your answer! Our IPL Photofacial at ReGenesis Plastic Surgery, Skin Care & Laser Center in Grand Junction, Colorado results in healthy, more youthful looking skin (with minimized sun damage and reduced sun spots). This procedure can be used on any part of the face and body. Some improvements in the skin may be visible after the first treatment, real results are seen in 60 to 90 days (2-3 months). The number of treatments required depends on the condition being corrected but is usually a series of 4 treatments, 1 month apart. *Each patient is unique and individual results may vary.

About the Procedure

Chin Surgery, also known as Mentoplasty, often times uses implants for chin surgery. There are many implants available, manufactured from a variety of materials. They may help strengthen a jawline or bring the chin or cheekbones into balance with the rest of the face.

The Photofacial is a non-surgical and non-ablative procedure. The Cutera Excel V is used for the Photofacial and the light is carefully calibrated, specific to each patient skin tone and pigment. This light is targeted for specified areas such as Rosacea (red spider veins/broken capillaries) or dark brown sun spots. The Photofacial treatment is administered by our Laser Technician, with consultations by one of our Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Hartshorn, Dr. Swelstad or Dr. Pitcher. The treatment can be accomplished in as little as 30 minutes (depending on patient needs) with improvements in skin within 60-90 days. The Photofacial stimulates the skin to build new collagen and corrects the skin from the inside out, with no downtime! Your results will be healthy, more youthful looking skin with minimized sun damage. The Photofacial can be used on any part of the face and body.

We suggest a schedule of 4 treatments to see the best results.

If you are prone to cold sores, we will require a an antiviral prescription to taken 2 days prior to treatment (such as Acyclovir or Valtrex).

You will be taken to our laser room and require to wear eye protection. Due to the intensity of the light, eye protection is required. We’ll provide you the glasses and a comfortable chair. You bring yourself and we’ll get your skin looking good as new. The IPL Photofacial is a process that is repeated until the entire area is treated – think of it as a really bright flash of light on your skin. The heat from the light is felt for just a moment but at most is uncomfortable but not painful, similar to a rubber-band snap.

The great thing about IPL Photofacials is there is no downtime! Due to the nature of the Intense Pulsed Light and it’s ability to treat underneath the skin and produce collagen – the treatment is easy for the patient and does not require the skin to peel. At ReGenesis Plastic Surgery & Skin Care center, we suggest a series of 4 for the optimal results. The number of treatments is usually a series of four, one month apart.

Results start to begin as soon as you have your first treatment, although you may not SEE them right away. The Cutera Excel V stimulates the skin – layers below to the surface – to regenerate collagen, for healthier, younger looking skin. Visual results can be seen after two to three months – as those deeper layers of skin are beginning to surface.
