The Collagen PIN
Grand Junction now offers treatments at ReGenesis Plastic Surgery and Skin Care Center for the The Collagen PIN (or otherwise known as “micro-needling”). This is a minimally invasive treatment using a device with very small needles (this is where the mirco-needling name comes into play!) creating tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin to trigger new collagen and elastin growth. These tiny injuries in the skin triggers the natural renewal of the regeneration process and benefits from treatments also include improved texture and firmness, reduced pore size, reduced fine lines, reduced wrinkles, reduced acne scars, reduced pigment issues, improved saggy skin and stretch marks. The Laser Technician that will perform your treatment will first numb your face with a numbing cream to make the treatment pleasant. The goal is to create pin-point punctures that creates a pinpoint bleeding (the micro needles and met the dermal layer of your skin) and that’s where the collagen stimulation is really stimulated.
The handheld device is then moved around the surface of the face in a mini circle motions. If desired, after the treatment and for an additional fee, a chemical peel can be added to enhance the treatment as the skin is more porous.
We recommend to start, a three-treatment series, 4-6 weeks apart. And as a maintenance, the Collagen PIN can be used intermittently once every few months. This treatment maintenance plan can be used to help keep the skin looking bright and healthy after a facelift or a J-plasma treatment.
Increased collagen production is seen at 48-72 hours post treatment.
